2020 PCHS Funding Needs

Operating Room Equipment

The operating suite was remodeled in 2017 as part of the hospital expansion and remodel. The remodeling project was crucial for the facility to provide the high-quality operating services needed by the patients in the area. When the remodel of the facility was undertaken, the operating suite was designed for maximum efficiency and patient care. However, some of the medical equipment was not upgraded at that time due to cost concerns.

Think about how quickly technology advances – now apply it to specialized equipment and
medical electronics in particular. At this time, advancements in surgical equipment and
sterilization upgrades would be considered one of the most important actions we can make at
PCHS to keep our patients and staff safe.

Neptune Fluid Waste Management System

The Neptune system is the only constantly closed fluid waste management system on the market, protecting the operating room staff from exposure to biohazardous waste.

Patient Transfer Cart

The transfer cart makes it possible to take the patient from the scope room on the cart, the procedure is performed on the cart and the patient is then taken back to the room on the same cart. There is no transferring of the patient from bed to bed or wheelchair to bed, minimizing the potential for patient injury. This also increases patient safety for patients that have just had sedation.

Trimano Support Arm

This is commonly utilized to optimize the alignment of the body area under repair. Surgical positioning of a patient provides optimal visualization and access to the surgical site. Correct positioning by the surgical team will reduce the chance of patient complication related to positioning.

Operating Room Sterilization Equipment

Sterilizing devices and instruments is one of the first lines of defense against infection in surgical
patients and is essential for ensuring that medical and surgical instruments do not transmit
infectious pathogens to patients.
Hospitals require the use of large autoclaves, sterilizers and glassware/equipment washers that
can sterilize numerous surgical instruments and medical equipment at one time. The industrial
equipment is necessary to provide the needed sterilization in a single cycle, meeting the ongoing
demand for sterile equipment in operating rooms and emergency wards.

Washer Sterilizer

Washer-sterilizers are modified steam sterilizers for cleaning, disinfecting, and drying solid and hollow surgical and medical equipment including glassware and ancillary operating room equipment. Washer-sterilizers act and look like a dishwasher in the operating room. The washer-sterilizer has enough strength to remove all surface contamination but gentle enough for cleaning of delicate instruments. It is also able to accommodate a wide size and shape range of instruments and devices.

Ultra Violet Sterilizer

The UV sterilizder deconstructs the DNA of deadly pathogens and common health care-associated infection culprits that may compromise patient outcomes. The tall, mobile unit measures, analyzes, and delivers the proper dose of UVC energy to consistently and effectively
disinfect every room and every surface, even in high-touch, shadowed areas. The UV sterilizer leaves behind no residue, is chemical free, and can sterilize an operating room or patient room in under 10 minutes.

Specialty Clinic and Hospital Basement Handrails

The Specialty Clinic area and the hallways in the basement of the hospital need handrails. Handrails provide patients with stability, extra support and balance. Handrails can assist patients with mobility and help to prevent falls. They also provide comfort and peace of mind for patients helping them to feel comfortable walking in the hallways.
